Abstract

The invention relates to a method for estimating wind field turbulence intensity, and especially to a method for estimating wind field turbulence intensity by using airborne radar. The method includes the following steps of: forming a simultaneous equation set by using a turbulence intensity definition formula of a wind field and a spectral width data definition formula of the wind field; deriving a relation formula comprising spectral width data and the turbulence intensity according to a turbulence wind field frequency spectrum model so as to close the above equation set; measuring the wind field of a target region by the airborne radar in real time so as to obtain the spectral width data of the wind field; and calculating the closed equation set by using the obtained spectral width data of the wind field so as to obtain an estimated value of the turbulence intensity of the wind field. According to the invention, the turbulence intensity of the detected wind field is estimated by using statistical characteristics, especially the spectral width data, obtained from the wind field detection through Doppler weather radar. The method for estimating the wind field turbulence intensity by using the airborne radar provides a turbulence intensity estimation three-dimensional distribution field according to space distribution and time distribution for pilots and commanders.
